BATS IN THE ATTIC

Think you have bats roosting in your house? You are not alone! Bat removal is one of our most popular service here at GONE Pest Management.

Bats are territorial creatures. Once they pick a roosting spot, they will revisit it every year unless you stop them from getting to it. And it takes an expert (like GONE Pest Management) to stop them from getting back into your home. Bats can get into spaces less than 1/2 an inch in diameter. Check out these pictures of bats we have found roosting in attics around South Florida.

BAT DROPPINGS (GUANO) IN THE ATTIC

Bats can be some of the most destructive and dangerous pests to have in your home. Bats urinate and defecate everywhere they roost, causing staining and odor problems which are difficult to remove. Bat guano (droppings) are associated with several diseases which are dangerous to humans such as rabies and histoplasmosis (a lung disease caused by the spores of the fungus which grows on bat guano).

The pictures below show the damage and contamination that bats and their guano and urine can do.

Bat Control

GONE Pest Management will provide a free inspection of your house to determine where the bats are entering and where they are roosting. Next, we will seal your home at all possible entry points such as the exhaust vents, gable vents, roof vents and the construction gap around the house (The construction gap is a gap left by the builder between the roof decking and facia board.) After the house is sealed, a bat valve or bat curtain will be hung at the point of entry. This will allow any bats in the house to get out; but none will be able to get back in.
